五月十一日（火）香港の憂鬱な初夏の曇天と高湿。それに個人的に倦怠感甚し。チョコレート食べたゐ、といふやうな欲望ばかり。地味にノート整理とか粛々と。いくつか半ば公的なイヴェントお誘ひなど受けたが引き蘢り気分で出る気ににもなれず個人的なお食事のお誘ひとかも回避気味。早晩に銅鑼湾。Ｚ嬢近隣にゐること判りEast End酒場でエール飲み新聞讀みＺ嬢と合流。帰宅して大根をろしと韮で豚肉の鍋。豚肉は「九州産」のがジャスコで割引は宮崎とかの口蹄疫の影響かしら。口蹄疫騒ぎも恐ろしいかぎり＝口蹄疫ぢゃなくあの疫禍騒ぎが。豚の「コウテイエキ」と聞ゐて、どうもユンケル皇帝液想像しちまふ。いづれにせよ九州産豚肉の鍋が美味い。サントリーの山崎。午後九時半就寝。

Professor (Kurt) Biedenkopf sees the Greek crisis as a defining moment for the future of the euro. He is adamant that it does not threaten the more fundamental integration of the EU. "It may happen that the crisis will spread, " he says. "The capacity of the stronger nations may not be able to pacify the capital markets. But Europe will not fall apart.
"What we are doing is a fantastic experiment to overcome hundreds of years of European history, including the memories of two terrible world wars. That has been overcome. The coming generations cannot possibly conceive that a return to the Europe of the early 20th century would be possible or desirable."
