十二月七日（木）言葉というのは面白い。「言った者勝ち」で読み手（聞き手）は言葉にまんまと騙される。今朝の安倍三世のメールマガジンも
半世紀にわたって誰も手をつけなかった大改革に挑戦しています。安倍内閣は、国民の視点で考える、国民本位内閣です。様々な意見の方がいますが、国民のための改革は、是非やり遂げたいと思います。どうか応援して下さい。
と安倍三世宣う。「そうか安倍さんは国民のためにそんな挑戦をしているんだ」などと実は昨今の自民党の「改革」で実質的な被害こうむる人にかぎって応援してしまったりする。この正直さが戦後の自民党政治を支えてきたのだが。では実際、半世紀の間に誰も大改革に挑戦しなかったのか？ 違うだろう。これまでの内閣は国民本位じゃなかったのか。池田勇人も田中角栄も政策は当時の国民にとって最も期待されたもの。であるからべつに安倍三世になったから大改革と国民本位が始まったのじゃないことだけは確か。さらに「様々な意見の方がいますが、国民のための改革は、是非やり遂げたいと思います」と全く理路整然とせぬ言い回し、こりゃ何だろうか。自らの理念である（具体的には何だか全く不明だが）国民のための改革だけが正しく、それに否定的な者の意見は聞かぬ、ということか。首相がこんな姿勢であるのだから子どもらに「素直になれ」「人と語れ」とイジメだの自殺せぬよう呼びかけることは所詮、無理。教育基本法改正より首相が「素直に人の話を聞ける」ことがよっぽど社会を是正するのではないかしら。
▼東京ファシス都知事石原君の04年スイスはダボスでの世界経済フォーラム年次総会（ダボス会議）出張について。今になって石原四男……ちょうど40歳だが「石原四男」じゃなくて石原延啓という、親が「断っておきますけど、うちの息子は立派な絵描きですよ」と言うのだから画家（作品はこちら）、その四男氏の渡航経費を公費から支払い、それについて父＝知事は会議でのアートパフォーマンスを息子らに「タダでやってもらって、旅費も（自分で）払ってなんて言えない。当たり前のことじゃないですか。違法性があるなら指摘してもらいたい」と憮然としているが、問題は「公費による渡航費用の支出内容書かれたされた契約書には石原四男の名前記載なし」（朝日）、つまり隠蔽しようとした形跡のあること。それなのに都知事の反論が「ちゃんとした画家で、働いてもらったんだからいいだろう」だ。こういうのを世間では「ケツをまくる」と言う。この都知事は結局この程度の虚勢でしか存在しておらず。この石原都知事の姿勢について今週の英国Economist誌のニュースレターは東京版で“Governor gripes” と題し
A scandal over foreign travel and an offensive gaffe have left Shintaro Ishihara, Tokyo’s right-wing governor, fielding an unprecedented slew of complaints. The loud-spoken governor with a penchant for controversy (he once claimed that French was “a language which cannot count numbers”) will seek a third term in the spring―a bid that many had presumed would be successful. But his reputation has suffered a blow from revelations that his last 15 trips abroad cost Tokyo taxpayers ?243m ($2.1m). In some cases the governor stayed at hotels that were more than three times costlier than the maximum permitted under administrative rules.
Mr Ishihara’s impropriety came to light days after he blundered into the fraught issue of school bullying. He told victims on November 10th, “If you don’t have a fighting spirit, you’ll probably get bullied wherever you go.” The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has been flooded with complaints from locals demanding apologies for these remarks, as well as a complete explanation of the governor's lavish travel arrangements.
Scandals and gaffes aside, Mr Ishihara’s efforts to make schools more patriotic seem to be paying off. Tokyo was among the first educational districts in Japan formally to punish teachers who failed to stand and sing the national anthem at school events. This aggressive take on national pride is now poised to spread beyond the capital.
Japan's new prime minister, Shinzo Abe, has made education reform a top priority in his efforts to “create a country with dignity”. His revisions to laws governing schools would require them to “evaluate students’ willingness to learn about and study traditional culture”. This would effectively grade children for their patriotism, and, say the law’s many critics, take Japan back to the pre-war era of indoctrination. Until redrafted by the Americans in 1947, the Imperial Rescript on Education forced teachers to instil a love of emperor and country in young Japanese children. Mr Abe is pushing hard to have the revisions passed during the current session of the Diet, Japan's legislature, which ends in mid-December.
